Helping a NASCAR Colleague

My friend and colleague Ellen Siska, NASCAR columnist for The York Dispatch and contributing writer at ESPN.com, needs our help.  I'm appealing to the entire NASCAR Nation -- not just fans, but drivers and team members as well.

Ellen is battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), a rare form of cancer that affects the white blood cells formed in the bone marrow.  She is undergoing a stem cell transplant today.

Along with your thoughts and prayers, Ellen would love to receive postal mail from the NASCAR community, including cards and letters.  Please keep in mind that she cannot receive fresh flowers or fruit, but silk flowers and balloons are permitted.

Ellen was forced to take a leave of absence from her column at The York Dispatch when she was diagnosed with leukemia last July.  Throughout this ordeal, she has kept her spirits high and has followed NASCAR closely (despite not getting SPEED TV in her hospital room!), but she really misses being at the track.

If you could, please take a moment today and remember Ellen in your prayers, as I will be doing.  Then, send her a card or letter at the following address:

Thank you!
